The event at each city will have keynote sessions from various speakers, demo stations showing many of Oracle’s Cloud services, a code lounge for developers to check out some “hardware” linked and controlled through Oracle backend, and other partner booths.
This past holiday break, I have mostly stayed in the garage – setting up a CNC machine and cutting all the things that I deemed cuttable by it.

Oracle hosted the first-ever company co-sponsored Maker Faire event on November 17, 2016.
When I heard of the event, I had something in my mind that I would encourage a group of middle-schoolers to make a game for the event. I have been teaching them occasionally on Arduino, NodeMCU and MQTT concept over some weekends, and this is the perfect opportunity to put them together in a build.

I have been always intrigued by the fact that people get deeply attached to the characters in the game (e.g. Second Life), or virtual pets. And with sufficient advancement in technology, the virtual characters may eventually cross the boundary and get attached to real-life people (e.g. Sci-Fi movie such as “Her”). While that is still a little far away from now, I’ve been looking to explore the 2-way communication and interaction between virtual (more...)
